This is a map of the Internment Camps in which many Ukrainians were located during the years 1914 till 1920. A more detailed discussion of the Internment Operations can be found in the immigration history section of this website. The map shows all the major camps and where in Canada, they were located. The legend at the bottom of the map illustrates the distribution of internees according to nationality as well as death rates. Ukrainians were labelled as Austro-Hungarians during this period and were considered a threat to Canada during World War I.
